The evidence

Built by hand, one signee at a time

7,554 college signees, read individually. No scraped aggregate, no formula standing in for data.

01

What we recorded

For each athlete: their published high school statistics, the school they played for, the season the numbers came from, and the source that printed them. Every line traces back to something someone published.

02

Provenance rides with the number

Hand-timed and electronic 40s are not the same measurement — hand times run roughly a quarter-second fast. Timing method, device, and whether parental heights were measured or estimated are all stored with the value, because a number without its method is not evidence.

03

Some sports didn't make it

Girls' basketball has Division I and Division II but not enough below that to draw an honest ladder, so it waits. Track and field needs a commercial licence we do not yet have. Neither ships until it can pass the same test the others passed.

04

The reference improves, carefully

As athletes use the product, their verified marks can refine the reference — capped, floored, monitored for drift, and never allowed to become the anchor. The published record stays the backbone.
